Diecutting & dabbling!!

I am fortunate enough to be the proud owner of a Silhouette SD and have been for some time now. But truth of the matter is I have found it a bit scary, not wanting to damage blade etc, and up until now I have only used it for mirror card and basic shapes. But . . . . . I have been experimenting with different cardstock to see what cuts without probs and what doesnt and todays efforts are shown below.

The beautiful picture has been decoupaged and printed from the craft cd rom 'A Touch of Magic' by Card Creations, featuring the fabulous artwork of Linda Ravenscroft.
With the exception of the butterfly, the frame and flourishes have been cut on the SSD and the flower was from my local pound shop.

Faeries are for all ages . . .

I do think that most, if not all of us, love the mystical magick of faerie cards. I know I do, and with the beautiful imagery that is Jems Designs craft cd roms, it is not difficult to create a handmade card that will delight anyone on their special day.
Here is my latest creation - Rosa Fae. An offset gatefold card with diecut gold borders using a Martha Stewart border punch. The rest is just matting and layering various card from stock, embossing some layers with cuttelbug embossing folder birds and swirls (my name for it!!)

The picture frame was diecut using spellbinders rectangle fleur de lys cutting die and the small pink roses with organza bow add the finishing touches to what I think is a dainty looking card!!

Love is in the Air

I really enjoy late spring and early summer dont you? The sun's shining, the baby birds are exploring my garden . . .awww and I've even spotted the vixen at the back of my garden with four cubs . . .awww!!  and then of course it's a fabulous time for weddings too - here are some pics of my latest customer order.

I've included some pix of the layers too as the card has been created using just white pearlescent cardstock and silver mirror card. I used to glue down my layers on a bookatrix after curving them. But lately I have stopped glueing so that the people can see the decoration on each layer.
