Hearts of Gold Wedding card

Still using alot of creams (vanilla) in my cardmaking, I have to say that I do like white on white with silver accents or whites, off whites and creams with gold accents for wedding cards. Unless I am making a specific card for someone who wants to 'go with' or compliment the brides colours, I usually 'play safe', using neutral colours and hopefully the card will appeal to a larger number of people when they visit my website.

I've also been experimenting with ways of displaying / creating my photos of my cards in a more interesting and 'softer' way. To create the picture above I have once again used CraftArtist for all the special effects which I hope dont distract from my card. I was rather hoping they enhanced it!!

All of the card used I had in my stash but it includes some white & gold blossom design card from Hunkydory way back and some dark green velvet paper which I found on ebay eons ago too. The flowers I made myself from diecuts, the hanging hearts flourish was cut on my Silhouette machine as were the leaves and flowers. Hints of glitter on the fleurs et voila!!! one wedding card which I hope will take someones fancy!!

Vanilla is my flavour of the month!!

or so it would seem as I am using alot of the neutral shades in my cardmaking at the moment lol. Been up since before the crack of dawn, the thunderstorms didn't materialise (I do like a good humdinger of a thunderstorm too), and now it's daylight we have what promises to be another glorious day here on the southeast coast. Anyway, back to the plot as they say! Here is a wedding card that I created yesterday inbetween going to work and taking aged parent to a hospital appointment. Now I didnt have this card in mind when I started (sounds a bit familiar) and maybe the roses in the corners are a twee step too far - I'm not sure but I'd love to hear your opinions on it.

The centre topper (Wedding arch and foliage arrangement) was die cut using my Silhouette SD machine, oval diecut using a large spellbinders die, polka dot acetate, lattice silkart hunkydory cardstock, gold mirror card and the pale lemon / cream pearlescent swirly card are from stash as are the little roses and babies breath flowers.

Chocanilla

Funny title for a blog perhaps but the colours of this latest creation of mine is chocolate and vanilla!!! To be honest, the papers I've had for ages and cant remember where I got them!!! the ribbons, tiny roses, feathers and shoe diecuts are from my stash, but, the large cream flower on the shoe I made myself using my SilhouetteSD machine. It's quite a journey discovering what papers and cardstock the machine will or wont cut!! Lots of frustration along the way, but I was quite pleased with this result in the end lol - hope you like it.

A Steampunk wedding

It's not very often I do any stamping and from visiting other blogs and seeing what other crafters create with their stamps, it's quite inspirational so methinks I shall have to 'have a go' more often!!
The card below was created with a steampunk stamp from kanban that I bought ages ago. Minimal colouring as you can see, and I just stamped and embossed with black sparkle embossing powders.

The card measures 8" x 8", white semi-glossy cardstock layered with black silkart card with embossed silver swirl design from hunkydory. silky flowers, ribbon and faux diamante ribbon slider are from stash as too are the red hed shaped gemstones.

Oooooo a bit of a struggle with this one

Fortunately it doesnt happen often, but now and again I find myself struggling to finish a card that isn't turning out as planned! Actually, this card is nothing like what I had in my mind when I started it and even now I'm not sure about it!!
But we all have different tastes and I'm sure it will appeal to someone ;) 

 

Various spellbinders cutting dies, a Martha Stewart border punch, antique matt gold gold, pink gliitter card and handmade oriental paper (inside) from stash and tiny roses from ebay. Tiny faux pearls and ribbon from stash too.
